Job Description

Our university client is looking to hire an Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications.  This role will have 2 direct reports and will report directly to the Director.  Day to day will be doing hands on digital marketing campaigns to enlist volunteers for the program.  In addition, the Associate Director will be responsible for backing up the Director during any extended leaves.

Skills:
  • Need to be familiar with all social media advertising platforms
  • WordPress and Adobe Creative Suite experience would be a strong plus
Our client is still working on post COVID work policies.  This would be remote to start.  All candidates would need to be in the Boston area as they will need to have them on campus a few days a week (3 days on, 2 days off).

This role requires advanced knowledge of digital marketing, as well as as operational knowledge of related communications disciplines. You enjoy being a subject matter expert and coaching team members, but are also open to new ideas and flexible when decisions do not go your way. You also never miss an opportunity to learn about new tools, software, or approaches to support and advance your work. You are a positive, enthusiastic team player who is always willing to pitch in and help out.

The assistant director is responsible for both editing and writing content for various communications publications, website content, etc. This will require a in-depth knowledge of the school and university's style guides. The assistant director will be expected to exercise judgment in assessing content and determining what platform it is best suited for.
