Job Description

Program Manager - Special Projects

 

Our fun, fast-paced client in Rhode Island is looking for a Program Manager for Special Projects to join their team for a long-term contract. In this role, you will be responsible for the connection and implementation of various strategies across a key brand; helping the global development team drive to decisions on a SKU or segment level that consider delivering on many critical metrics.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the conduit, leading and monitoring the development process, working closely with the global product development, marketing, finance, strategic sourcing, and operations teams to ensure product delivery in a timely manner within timing and cost expectations
  • Apply a business and strategic lens to decisions at the item level to ensure SKUs meet the most critical needs while fitting into larger brand and organizational goals
  • Communicate and facilitate meetings with different cross functional roles to ensure partners are aware and involved in the decisions made throughout the product development lifecycle and how they impact the greater brand goals
  • Find opportunities for process improvements driving speed to market & customer/consumer satisfaction; in close coordination with the product development team applying processes, principals and established systems
  • Collaborate with sourcing team to maintain and help prioritize product/projects that are consistent with the development capabilities and capacity of each partner vendor
  • Proactively identify, plan, communicate, and mitigate risks; ensure alignment to product scheduled delivery
  • Partner in developing and communicating status, critical metrics & measurements related to Product Development process
  • Focus on planning for future line years and maintaining the support for carryforward items while balancing the emphasis on new items within development and initial production stages

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business or technical area; PM Certification a plus
  • Minimum 4 years' experience in Project Management driving multi-functional projects, preferably related to Product Development
  • Experience in toys/consumer products field and plastic manufacturing
  • Creative problem-solving approach with the ability to assemble and guide key partners to the options/solutions
  • Strength in creating and leading the implementation of set strategies and sustainable long and short-term goals, while facilitating strategic development expectations
  • Self-starting and passionate approach at research and better understanding initiatives and processes from different viewpoints to effectively influence progressing them and the business
  • Ability to understand & use system resources, including PLM system, Microsoft Suite and provide training to the vital individuals
  • Lean/Six sigma knowledge a plus
